Lance Benoist Victorious In His UFC Debut

Lance Benoist Victorious In His UFC Debut won a unanimous decision in a tough first fight on the big stage of UFC Fight Night 25 in New Orleans on September 17, 2011. Lance was able to showcase his skills on his feet as well as on the ground during his hard fought victory over UFC veteran Matt Riddle. Although his heart may have been the biggest asset on display as he was able to hold on for victory after having his nose was badly broken as the result of a knee strike from the clinch in the second round. So impressed was UFC President Dana White that he tweeted "I gave Benoist rounds one and two also. That kid is gonna be good! He's only 22 and riddle is a TOUGH first fight!" We are proud of Lance and his performance and look forward to future victories in the octagon.

Lance Benoist improved his professional MMA record to 5-0 on April 30, 2011.

With a first round triangle choke submission of his opponent at the fight card held at Lumiere Place Casino. On March 26, 2011 Lance Benoist earned a hard-fought first round submission victory over his HIT Squad opponent using the same effective triangle choke (pictured above).
All five victories have ended via first round submissions or KO. Lance started training at The Fitness Edge in February 2011. He trains with Derek Fairchild 3-5 days a week alongside his training partners Tyron Woodley and Nick Lobosco. Lance is a young and talented fighter who has experienced great success in the cage and who has many more victories ahead of him.
